AMOR — DAY 4: Komorebi Teardrop Sapphire
AMOR — DAY 4: Komorebi Teardrop Sapphire
In Japan, May 4th is celebrated as Greenery Day, a holiday dedicated to honoring nature and giving thanks for its presence in our lives.
Nature has always been a constant for me. It was something my family valued deeply growing up, and it’s continued to be one of the places I return to for grounding, inspiration, and perspective.
The soft seafoam green of this teardrop lab sapphire felt instantly calming, and its facets scatter light in a way that reminds me of komorebi (the Japanese word for sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees).
I wanted this ring to have a little surprise detail. From the top, the ring is simple. But when you turn it to the side, a delicate hand-engraved flora pattern reveals itself—the most beautiful details are sometimes ones you notice only when you slow down.
1.22ct lab green teardrop sapphire, 1.9mm lab and natural white brilliant cut accent diamonds (a bit of AMOR lore: while setting the accent stones, I dropped one of the lab diamonds and couldn’t recover it, so I had to think fast and sub in a natural one!)
